Zamansky LLC Investigates Potential Investment Fraud Claims Against Former Morgan Stanley Financial Advisor Darryl Cohen

April 12, 2023 Active Cases & Investigations

Our firm is investigating potential investment fraud claims by customers of former Morgan Stanley financial advisor Darryl Cohen of Westlake Village, California.

In March 2023, Mr. Cohen was arrested and charged with three counts of fraud for allegedly defrauding multiple current and former NBA players, including Jrue Holiday, Chandler Parsons and Courtney Lee.  From 2015 to 2020, he is alleged to have stolen more than $13 million from clients and to have received kickbacks from selling his clients’ life settlements.  He was also terminated by Morgan Stanley and permanently barred from the securities industry by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

Anyone who was a customer of Mr. Cohen at Morgan Stanley may wish to have their investment accounts reviewed for potential investment fraud.  From the allegations, Mr. Cohen appears to have been transferring money directly to himself or to others for his benefit and also purportedly selling outside investments to customers.  His employer Morgan Stanley had a duty to supervise his activity for potential investment fraud, including that done outside the firm.
