Zamansky LLC Investigates UBS V10 Currency Index Structured Notes And Barclays Plc Currency-Linked Notes

October 6, 2013 Active Cases & Investigations

Zamansky LLC is investigating the sales by UBS Financial Services (“UBS”) of structured notes based on its V10 Currency Index.   On February 7, 2015, Bloomberg reported that the U.S. Department of Justice was probing whether UBS misled customers in the sales of its structured notes and products linked to its proprietary V10 Currency Index.

According to Bloomberg, the Justice Department is investigating the V10 products to determine whether UBS misrepresented to clients the profits it was earning on the foreign currency basket. The scrutiny is part of authorities’ wider probe into manipulation in the foreign-exchange market, and possible manipulation of foreign currency prices.

Barclays Plc also has an “optimized currency carry strategy” similar to the V10 product, and has also been the subject of the Justice Department’s investigation over possible manipulation of foreign currency prices.

If you purchased any structured notes or products linked to the V10 Currency Index from UBS, or currency-linked notes from Barclays Plc, and wish an evaluation of your rights, please contact Jake Zamansky by telephone at (212) 742-1414 or by email at jake@zamansky.com.
