Zamansky LLC is investigating the Satellite Multi-Strategy Access Fund LLC (“Satellite Multi-Strategy”), and UBS Renaissance Institutional Equities Fund I, LLC (“UBS Renaissance”). These were private investment funds sold by UBS Financial Services Inc. (“UBS Financial Services”) and its financial advisors to the firm’s brokerage customers.
According to filings with the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission (“SEC”), available at http://www.sec.gov, on December 2, 2009, UBS Renaissance filed a Form D disclosing that it began offering shares of its fund on March 2007, and that it had sold $221 million. On July 2007, Satellite filed a Form D disclosing that it began offering shares of its fund on July 2007, and that it had sold $71 million. UBS Financial Services is listed as the “sponsor” in these Form Ds.
Zamansky is investigating sales of the Satellite Multi-Strategy and UBS Renaissance funds to investors. According to Jake Zamansky, “Private investments are inherently risky and not appropriate or suitable for conservative or other risk-averse investors. Any investor who purchased one of these funds but who did not want to invest in high risk investments may have recourse.”
