Zamansky Investigates Titan Capital And The Global Return Fund For Potential Lawsuits
Zamansky & Associates LLC has commenced an investigation on behalf of investors in the Titan Global Return Fund (Class M) managed by Titan Capital Group (”Titan Capital”) for lawsuits for violation of federal securities laws. The Titan Global Return Fund (the “Fund”) is a hedge fund engaged in volatility arbitrage strategies managed by the high-profile Russell Abrams, Head of Titan Capital, and was one of the first funds of this kind. Titan Capital marketed the volatility strategies of this Fund as “nondirectional” and claimed that its strategy would lead to out-performance during both rising and falling markets.
During 2010, Titan Capital’s Fund suffered substantial losses estimated by some at over 70%. These losses, Abrams acknowledged, were the result of “a series of very bad decisions”, and he stated that the “pressure got to him”. Titan Capital also fired three traders, two of whom were in risk management and one of whom was its CFO. Titan Capital was sued by one institutional investor in a lawsuit alleging fraud. We are investigating potential lawsuits for investors whether Titan Capital breached representations made to investors about its risk management systems and controls, causing them to realize substantial losses.
